Room for Drama publishes general design education, spatial analysis, planning ideas, product and material commentary, and interactive decision-support tools. This page collects the publication’s principal disclaimers and commercial/editorial disclosures in one place.
General information; no professional relationship
Room for Drama does not provide individualized architectural, engineering, structural, electrical, plumbing, construction, accessibility, real-estate, financial, legal, or other licensed professional services. Reading an article, using a tool, buying a digital product, or contacting the publication does not create a professional-client relationship or a duty of care.
Interior design, construction, structural, and financial boundaries
Mood boards, layouts, color palettes, product ideas, room edits, measurements, cost examples, and planning frameworks are for design and decision-support purposes. Before physical work begins, verify dimensions, site conditions, manufacturer instructions, permits, lease or association restrictions, applicable building and fire rules, and current local requirements.
Use appropriately licensed or qualified professionals for load-bearing changes, structural work, electrical work, gas, plumbing, ventilation, hazardous materials, fire or egress issues, accessibility compliance, or any other work regulated in your jurisdiction. A design concept, calculator result, rendered image, or room-planning output is not a construction document, code approval, engineering determination, contractor estimate, or guarantee of project cost or value.
Prices, labor rates, availability, lead times, product specifications, warranties, and vendor policies change. Confirm consequential purchasing and installation facts with the responsible seller, manufacturer, trade, or authority before committing money or work.
Applications, calculators, and generated outputs
Room for Drama applications, web editions, calculators, diagnostics, recommendations, and generated outputs are provided as is and as available to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not promise that a tool will be uninterrupted, error-free, available on every device, or immune from browser, database, network, hosting, synchronization, or software failures.
Keep your own copy of information that would be costly to lose. Do not use a Room for Drama application as the only record of safety-critical, contractual, structural, financial, or other consequential information. A tool result is decision support, not certification or professional approval.
AI-assisted work and human oversight
Automated and generative systems, including tools such as Claude when used, and editing software such as Grammarly when used, may assist with research organization, source discovery, analysis, structure, drafting support, editing, coding, metadata, accessibility work, and production quality assurance. Published editorial material is reviewed and finalized by a human. AI is not treated as the attributed author, a witness, professional judgment, or evidence.
AI may not fabricate firsthand room trials, measurements, installations, product use, visits, before-and-after observations, sources, quotations, professional determinations, or results. Generated or materially altered media that could reasonably be mistaken for documentary evidence should be labeled or otherwise presented with clear provenance. Concept imagery is not proof that a particular real room was built or performed that way.
Advertising, affiliate links, sponsorships, and owned products
Room for Drama may earn money from display advertising, affiliate links, sponsorships, gifted access, licensing, or products owned by Northern Lantern House LLC. A material relationship that could reasonably affect how a recommendation is understood is disclosed before or beside the affected recommendation. A footer notice or this page does not replace a disclosure where the relationship matters.
Advertising does not purchase a conclusion, safety claim, evidence label, correction, or editorial verdict. Owned products and sister-publication tools are identified when that relationship is material to the recommendation.
No guaranteed results
Design outcomes depend on the specific room, building, budget, workmanship, products, maintenance, local requirements, and choices made during implementation. Room for Drama does not guarantee aesthetic, functional, financial, resale, durability, accessibility, or construction outcomes.

Limitation of liability

Nothing on this page excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Corrections and accountability
Material errors are corrected under the process described in the Editorial Standards. Safety, structural, regulatory, financial, evidence, and commercial-disclosure issues receive priority. Commercial relationships do not block legitimate corrections.
