The guest room that is also an office. The dining table that is also homework. The living room that has to become an evening once the toys are in it. Each function is fine on paper. What nobody designed is the ninety seconds between them.

Time the changeover honestly. If returning the room to its other self takes more than a couple of minutes, or needs two people, or needs somewhere else to put a thing that has no somewhere else, the room has already chosen a winner — and it may not be the one you wanted.
